Flatland creates instrumental, psychedelic landscapes with conceptual themes that are undeniably important to the scientific and spiritual community. Flatland is an often collaborator with Manchester’s ‘Kate Anita’.
2016’s ‘Welcome To Flatland’ used astronomer & cosmologist Carl Sagan’s voice to guide the listener through his famous lecture in 1980’s groundbreaking ‘Cosmos’ TV series detailing and explaining the properties of the 4th dimension, referring to understandable two dimensional landscapes and how a 3rd dimensional being like ourselves would appear in a 2 dimensional space. Then, once simplified to this, expanding the explanation to how a three dimensional being would explore/interpret a fourth dimensional space; it is thought experiments like this that are close to artist ‘Flatland’s heart.
